In his star constellation, Sagittarius represents a centaur with a bow and arrow. He is located in the fourth quadrant of the southern sky and is surrounded by Scorpio (scorpion), Aquila (eagle), Capricornus (capricorn), Indus (the Indian), Ophiuchus ( Ophiuchus), and Telescopium (telescope).

In Greek mythology, a centaur is a combination of half human and half horse. Many stories revolve around the neighboring figures and Sagittarius.

The constellation is easy to spot thanks to its size and location in the Milky Way. A group of the brightest stars within the image are also particularly well known by the name: Teapot.

Epsilon Sagittarii also called Kaus Australis is the brightest star in Sagittarius. The blue giant is a double star and the 36th brightest star in the sky.
