Libra can be discovered in the southern firmament. The scales are held by the Greek goddess of justice, who can be seen as the constellation Virgo. Other neighbors are Scorpius (scorpion), Lupus (wolf), Ophiuchus (serpent bearer), Hydra (water snake) and Centaurus (centaur).

Libra is a very special image in the zodiac because it is the only sign that represents an object. The meaning comes from the Romans, the symbol of justice. But the Babylonians also came up with a similar statement and called the image 'ZIB.BA.AN.NA', which means 'the balance of heaven'.

The oldest known star in the sky is also at home in this picture. 'Methusalem' is 13.6 billion years old, formed shortly after the Big Bang and is about 6,000 light-years from Earth.
